The Shimano plates say 34-36T so they probably won't work to well with a 38T, sorry man.

Portland, Oregon, United States
Ordered these in blue with the 2" rise during their Halloween sale, they gave me a great deal and threw in free shipping too. Imagine my surprise when the box showed up with the bars as well as a free pint glass, a shirt and a bunch of stickers too! The bars look even better in person too. I threw them on my bike and went on a ride through the local trails, they feel great. The 2" rise was the right choice given my height (6'4) and the sweep is a very comfortable angle. I do plan on chopping them down a few inches, 32" is too wide for me. The ends of the bars are marked in half inch increments to make it easier to keep them even, a very nice touch. Only issue I can think of is that my Hayes brakes didn't quite clamp all the way on to the bars, they were still a bit loose even with the screw all the way tightened. However, I threw my usual bit of teflon tape under them and they're fine now. If you're looking for new bars and want to give your bike a bit of flash, I'd definitely recommend these.

Anyway, we're going to BR on September 25. That day also happens to be a shuttle day and $35 will get you to the top all day.
